Meet Bella, our gentle Akita girl! Bella arrived at Battersea as a stray, a little unsure of the world around her. It didn’t take her long to realise she was safe, and before long she was relaxing, making friends and enjoying a fuss. Bella is an easy-going girl who loves a good walk, having a sniff and pottering along at her own pace. She walks nicely on the lead and has taken to the busy site well. When meeting other dogs, Bella tends to be independent and can sometimes feel unsure, particularly when off lead. She would therefore prefer to be the only dog in the home and live in a quieter area where she can enjoy her walks without too much going on around her. Bella does have a sensitive side, particularly when it comes to handling. She is looking for owners with some previous dog experience who will give her time, space and patience while she settles in. She could live with teenagers who have experience around sensitive dogs and understand when she needs a little space. Once Bella learns to trust you, she really does enjoy a fuss, and she is showing us more and more of her lovely personality every day.
