Bella

Mixed Breed · Unknown

Bella is a true beauty of a girl, given such a fitting name by her rescuers. Her rescuers were the people who didn't look away as Bella sat by the side of her four-legged friend who had been run over by a car and didn't leave his side. They had gone through a hard life on the streets together. Heart-wrenching. Bellas rescuers brought her from the street, where she had been exposed to so many dangers, as well as heat, cold, and hunger, to the animal shelter. Now, this wonderful, characterful female dog awaits her chance at a beautiful life in a loving forever home. Bella is a physically large and strong female dog with a loving and playful character. A suitable home would be with people who have experience with large dogs, as her strength—although she is so loving—must be controlled. She also needs to learn a few things to ensure she and her future trusted people can enjoy a harmonious coexistence. Bella needs space (at least a larger garden), a task, love, affection, and training. A (farmer's) farm where she can move freely would be wonderful for her. She is clingy, likes children, with whom she plays very happily. However, she can sometimes be boisterous due to her size and strength—always friendly. Bella is an attentive female dog and is also very social with other dogs. She handles walks calmly and curiously. Experienced, understanding, and loving dog people who give Bella enough "playroom" and at the same time know how to handle her never-aggressive physical strength, train, and keep her busy with tasks, would be perfect for this wonderful female dog who has so much to give. © 2006-2024 by animal welfare association Europa e.V. DE·Show original

© 2006-2024 by Tierschutzverein Europa e.V. - All rights reserved

About Bella

What life with Bella looks like

Bella is a large adult mixed breed dog waiting at Tierschutzverein Europa in München.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Bella, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Bella?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein Europa handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Bella on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Bella if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein Europa will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Bella already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Bella isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein Europa early rather than rehoming privately; they know Bella and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
