Belle

Staffordshire Bull Terrier · Female · Senior · 13 years

Belle loves being with her favourite people but is quite content spending a few hours home alone. She is housetrained and travels well in the car. Belle enjoys a cosy spot for a snooze, but her favourite thing is a tasty treat which she takes very gentle. She loves to potter around the garden and still enjoys gentle walkies. Belle does have some ongoing medical needs which our team here at the centre would be happy to discuss with any potential adopters. Belle is a beautiful older lady and at 13 years old she is hoping to find the quiet and peaceful retirement home she so truly deserves. Belle is such a sweet girl, who definitely prefers the slower pace in life. Belle could live in a home home with upper primary aged children who can understand when she may need space on her own or some peace and quiet. Belle's favourite time, is dinner time and she gets very excited when she hears her foster carers getting it ready. She has previously lived with cats, so we think she could do again.

About Belle

What life with Belle looks like

Belle is a senior staffordshire bull terrier dog waiting at Dogs Trust Kenilworth in Kenilworth.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Belle, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Belle?: Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Dogs Trust Kenilworth handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Belle on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Belle if I live in another country?: Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Dogs Trust Kenilworth will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Belle already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?: Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Belle isn't the right fit?: Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Dogs Trust Kenilworth early rather than rehoming privately; they know Belle and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?: TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
