Belma

Mixed Breed · Female · Adult · 5 years

Belma is a young female dog who is active, very food motivated, and people oriented. She has only three legs, but this does not limit her in any way. She is extremely food motivated and despite her physical limitations, she is very active. We are looking for a foster home/interested party for Belma who is willing to give a dog with a disability a loving home, raise her in a young dog-friendly way, and grow with her. We would also like to work with dog trainers - we can establish suitable contacts. To keep Belma fit even in old age as a three-legged dog, we recommend considering long-term physiotherapy and can also offer contacts here.

____________ Hast Du Interesse an Belma? About Belma

What life with Belma looks like

Belma is a medium-sized adult mixed breed dog waiting at Caramelli Rescue Montenegro in Nationwide.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇲🇪Adopting from Montenegro

The shelter typically completes the animal's vaccinations, microchipping, and pet passport before adoption. Specific fees and process details vary by shelter and country — confirm directly via the contact details in the sidebar.

Frequently asked

Adopting Belma, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Belma?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Caramelli Rescue Montenegro handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Belma on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Belma if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Caramelli Rescue Montenegro will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Belma already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Belma isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Caramelli Rescue Montenegro early rather than rehoming privately; they know Belma and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
