Adoption requirements Adoption process Request this animal now! Adoption requirements Adoption process Request this dog now! Bene is only 1.5 years old and probably spent his whole life tied up in a yard. He probably tried for a long time and finally managed to free himself. The marks on his neck show the pain Bene had to endure. But now he finally has the chance for the life that a dear heart like him deserves. At about 40 cm at the shoulder and weighing just under 12 kg, Bene is rather a smaller dog. Bene has beautiful dense fur in various sand and beige tones. With his small floppy ears and sweet face, he looks like a little teddy bear. Despite his past, the little guy is approachable towards people and has kept his friendly character. Additionally, Bene is open and curious. He gets along well with other dogs. A compatibility with cats has not been tested yet. Since Bene probably never experienced living in a loving home, the life in a household as well as the rules there will be new for him. We wish for Bene people who will work with him on the basics of dog training and show him how a happy coexistence works. Certainly, a visit to a positive working dog school would also be a wonderful opportunity for the young, smart male dog to further develop his training. Moreover, a shared task is always a great way to deepen your bond and grow as a team. It is assumed that Bene is a small Spitz mix with Nordic heritage. Typical for this type of dog are his smart, curious and people-oriented nature as well as his cheerful temperament. Spitz mixes are often attentive, eager to learn and closely attached to their main person. Will you give the fluffy teddy with short legs and a big heart a warm basket? A foster home would also be a valuable stepping stone for Bene into a happy future. Bene can go to his new home neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed and treated for fleas with an EU pet passport. He will be adopted after a positive pre-check and against a fee. Thank you Lars! Thanks to your sponsorship of his name, Bene has the chance for his own family. Date: 14.05.2026

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! Stand: 14.05.2026

About Bene

What life with Bene looks like

Bene is a medium-sized adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Bene, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Bene?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Bene on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Bene if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Bene already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Bene isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Bene and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
