Benita

Female · Adult · 8 years

Benita introduced herself to us as the biggest chatterbox and an amazing sweetheart. She is immediately on the couch next to a person and shows her white belly. Unfortunately, Benita's behavior has changed. Benita has been in the animal shelter for over a year and clearly has had enough. Enough waiting and enough treatment. Benitka once again returned from Ochota to the cat hospital. The strong stress she has been living in for over a year is really very hard on her and makes daily functioning difficult. When Benitka felt better, she was a cat who immediately appeared next to a person - almost "stuck" to human knees, longing for closeness. This cat must find a home as soon as possible. We also encourage you to familiarize yourself with our adoption procedure. Before adoption, make sure your home / apartment is safe and properly prepared for welcoming a new family member. Attention:

PL·Show original

Dość czekania i dość leczenia.

About Benita

What life with Benita looks like

Benita is a small adult cat waiting at Schronisko Na Paluchu in Warsaw.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

Note from the shelter: IBD (Inflammatory Bowel Disease) requiring special diet, overweight due to steroid treatment, needs continued weight management

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Benita, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Benita?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko Na Paluchu handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Benita on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Benita if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko Na Paluchu will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Benita already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Benita isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko Na Paluchu early rather than rehoming privately; they know Benita and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
