Benji is an enthusiastic, cheerful and energetic dog who likes to get attention and will seek it out otherwise. He loves walking. He prefers to go on a sniffing adventure with his nose to the ground, completely in his own world full of interesting smells. Sometimes he pulls a bit when he wants to explore something new, but overall he walks nicely on a loose lead. He is used to a harness with a fixed lead, where different lead lengths are used. His coat requires regular grooming. Weekly brushing is needed to prevent mats. Benji is used to this and remains calm during grooming. Only touching his front paws sometimes feels a bit stressful to him. Benji knows several commands, such as sit, down, paw, stay, up and beg, and he is very eager to learn. A obedience or scent training course would suit him well: fun for Benji and valuable for strengthening the bond. We suspect that Benji has mild separation anxiety. When you approach him or walk away from him, he can bark a lot and show stress signals. Therefore, we are looking for a quiet household for Benji, where he gets the stability and attention he needs.

Dit is Benji! Een vrolijke en aanhankelijke senior die graag in de buurt van zijn mensen is. Hoewel hij op leeftijd is, is Benji nog erg fit en energiek. Hij geniet van lange wandelingen, gaat graag op ontdekkingstocht met zijn neus aan de grond en vindt het leuk om samen actief bezig te zijn. Daarom zoeken wij voor Benji een baasje dat nog goed ter been is, van wandelen houdt en hem zowel lichamelijk als mentaal uitdaging kan bieden. Benji kent verschillende commando’s, is leergierig en loopt over het algemeen netjes mee aan de lijn. Zijn vacht vraagt om regelmatige verzorging; wekelijks kammen is nodig om klitten te voorkomen. Benji is dit gewend en blijft rustig tijdens de verzorging. Alleen het aanraken van zijn voorpoten vindt hij soms wat spannend. Voor Benji zoeken wij een stabiel en gezellig thuis waar vaak iemand aanwezig is. Hij kan geplaatst worden bij kinderen vanaf 6 jaar, gaat (op zijn eigen manier) goed om met andere honden en heeft eerder met katten samengewoond.
