Benji

Mixed Breed · Male · Senior · 9 years

Benji is a friendly, sweet natured boy looking for his forever home through Safe Rescue . He is currently in a foster home in Fakenham, Norfolk. Benji is a very handsome, medium sized, 9yr old chap who was originally adopted from Safe Rescue a few years ago, where he has been a much adored pet, but sadly due to the personal circumstances of his owners he is now looking for a new forever home where he will be equally as loved. He has lived happily as an only dog and is most probably suited again getting all of the attention and love in his new home. He gets on with most dogs that he meets out on walks, but there are a few he takes exception to. He could live with respectful children aged 8yrs + and it's unknown how he behaves with cats. Benji is a quiet dog that loves his humans. He would like his owners to be around for most of the time as he can get anxious when left on his own for more than a couple if hours. So perhaps you are retired/semi retired/work from home and looking for a gentle loving companion ? He loves his walks, and is great on the lead. Benji is the sweetest boy that will make the bestest friend for some lucky person. Please note – Safe Rescue have a policy that all dogs adopted from them must wear a slip lead on walks. Please only enquire about Safe Rescue dogs if you are happy to always use a slip lead – extendable leads are not acceptable to Safe Rescue. All dogs have to be collected and a crate must be used. Full details of their rehoming policy are on Benji's home page here. . _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ If you would like to give Benji the loving home he seeks, please contact Safe Rescue below: Tel/Message: or between 9am-5pm Mon-Fri and 9am-4pm Sat Email: Please mention that you saw Benji on Oldies Club website.

About Benji

What life with Benji looks like

Benji is a medium-sized senior mixed breed dog waiting at The Oldies Club in United Kingdom.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Benji, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Benji?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. The Oldies Club handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Benji on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Benji if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — The Oldies Club will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Benji already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Benji isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with The Oldies Club early rather than rehoming privately; they know Benji and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
