adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Now request this dog! Bennet is a loving and beautiful German Shepherd-Mix male dog, whom we have promised to do everything we can to ensure he spends his last years in a quiet and loving environment. Therefore, we urgently seek patient and understanding people who will meet him respectfully and show him how wonderful life as a beloved family member can be. We know nothing about Bennet's past, where he came from, or how he lived before. Perhaps he spent his entire life on the streets. Perhaps he had a home before and was abandoned or abandoned somewhere. But Bennet no longer cares about his past—he hasn't lost his zest for life and shows a friendly and trusting demeanor at the Public Shelter in Baia Mare. The good-natured male dog is looking for a quiet place, good food, and lots of love to finally feel at home. We estimate Bennet to be 9 years old. He is about 60 cm tall and counts among the calmer, more modest dogs who no longer expect much from life but are grateful for everything good that is still available to them. Bennet has dense, black-and-white spotted fur, an expressive face, and pointed, triangular ears. We assume that he is a German German Shepherd-Mix. A few scars on his snout testify to a tough life, but the look in his light brown eyes is calm and confident. We hope very much that Bennet's hope for a second chance will come true. Probably Bennet has never lived in a house and needs patient and consistent training to learn all the rules for a well-behaved house dog. With lots of affection and empathy, shared activities, and plenty of contact with fellow animals, Bennet will hopefully make the most of his second chance and enjoy life to the fullest. He wishes for his own people who will stay by his side for the rest of his life. People who not only spoil him despite his advanced age but also offer him mental stimulation and appropriate physical activity. Are you the person who can fulfill Bennet's wish? Then contact us. We would also be very happy about a loving foster home for him. A friendly female dog could also live in Bennet's new home. However, his compatibility with other male dogs has not yet been tested. Bennet can immediately be microchipped, vaccinated, neutered, dewormed, and treated for fleas with an EU pet passport to travel to his new home. We are grateful to Susanne B. for giving the brave Bennet his name and thus his own identity. As of: 19.02.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! Vielen Dank Annette W.! Du unterstützt Bennet mit einer monatlichen Patenschaft! Stand: 19.02.2026

About Bennet

What life with Bennet looks like

Bennet is a large senior mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Bennet, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Bennet?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Bennet on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Bennet if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Bennet already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Bennet isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Bennet and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
