Adopt a Cat ‘Benny’ 835 Views The search is on for ‘ A Foster Home For Life’ in a safe area for this gorgeous boy xx❣️xx We believe he is 11/12 years old. He needs to be the only pet with ideally a quiet adult only household. Once he is fully settled he will need cat flap access so he can go outside during the day. If you would like to come along and meet this lovely boy you are welcome to contact us anytime on 521778 / – if I miss your call please do leave a message with your phone number xx To find out more about ‘Foster For Life’ again please get in touch xx When ‘Benny’ came into our care he had been abandoned by his owner. His poor mouth was in a terrible condition. He had lost some teeth but he needed the remaining ones removed as the infection and condition of those remaining were dreadful – as you can imagine he feels as if he has been reborn ❣️ ‘Benny’ also thought every meal was his last – yet another sign of his neglect – he knows knows his three meals a day are plentiful and regular – all he needs now is a home to call his own ❣️ Could that be with YOU ? About Benny

What life with Benny looks like

Benny is a senior mixed breed cat waiting at Feline Welfare (Isle of Wight) in United Kingdom.

Senior cats are the gentlest house guests: predictable, mostly silent, and grateful for a sunny windowsill. Older cats often have minor dental or kidney issues — keep an eye on water intake and weight. Many sleep eighteen hours a day and want no part of any drama.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Benny, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Benny?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Feline Welfare (Isle of Wight) handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Benny on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Benny if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Feline Welfare (Isle of Wight) will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Benny already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Benny isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Feline Welfare (Isle of Wight) early rather than rehoming privately; they know Benny and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
