adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Now request this dog! Bente has found her home! Her story: The sweet Bente is about 7 weeks old and just at the beginning of her life. Together with her mother Emmi and her six siblings Rumi, Zora, Maura, Mira, Allie, and Lexa, she was found on the street and subsequently brought to a shelter. There, the little dog family is now safe and waiting to be discovered by loving people. Bente is a curious and lively puppy girl, just beginning to explore the world with her little paws. As typical for puppies, she loves to play, observe her surroundings, and constantly discover new things. She is still very young, but she will grow and develop her own personality step by step. Also, puberty will eventually set in for Bente – a time when young dogs need a lot of patience, understanding, and a loving, consistent presence. For Bente, we wish for people with hearts who will take the time to get to know her and show her everything that belongs to a happy dog life. With patience, loving guidance, and shared time, she will learn what it means to be a family dog. Attending a positively working dog training class could be a beautiful support and simultaneously strengthen the bond between Bente and her people. Bente has not yet experienced life in a house. Things like everyday sounds, walks, new environments, or even house training will be discovered by her in her new home. With loving guidance and a little patience, she will certainly develop into a loyal and cheerful companion. Bente travels vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, and flea-treated, as well as with an EU pet passport, and can move in with you for an adoption fee of 500 Euros. Would you like to give the little Bente a safe and loving home and accompany her on her journey into life? A heartfelt thank you to Annette – thank you for giving her this wonderful name. As of: 11.03.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! Stand: 11.03.2026

About Bente

What life with Bente looks like

Bente is a puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Bente, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Bente?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Bente on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Bente if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Bente already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Bente isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Bente and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
