BentleyRESERVIERT ID-No: 1038260 Breed: German Shepherd Age: approx. 05/2020 Gender: male Shoulder height: approx. 65 cm Neutered: Yes Country: Germany Location: Oldenburg ZIP: 26129 Contact form *** Update 12/18/2025: We are still urgently looking for a place for Bentley – even a foster home can help *** Bentley – an intelligent German Shepherd with power and heart Bentley (* 05/2020, approx. 65 cm) is a stunning male German Shepherd who has been living in Germany since June 2025. Prior to that, he was at the animal shelter Triple A in Marbella (Spain). We are now again searching for a new home for him, as cohabitation with cats in his current household isn't working due to his strong prey drive. Bentley is a very intelligent and eager-to-learn dog. He would certainly be an excellent candidate for mantrailing or other meaningful activities that provide mental stimulation. He loves being challenged and enjoys working closely with his humans. Bentley is a highly people-oriented dog who seeks close contact with his trusted people and enjoys cuddling. He shows no fearfulness and approaches new situations with confidence. He handles car rides without issue, and being left alone for several hours is also not a problem for him. Bentley is house-trained and behaves completely effortlessly indoors. Outdoors, Bentley often reacts impulsively to stimuli and displays a pronounced prey drive; however, he is generally responsive and can be guided well with patience and experience. He shows reactivity toward other dogs while on leash and still requires targeted training in this area. With impulse control and learning alternative behaviors, walks with him can become significantly more relaxed. Off-leash around other dogs, Bentley proves sociable and respects boundaries. Therefore, he could also be successfully rehomed as a second dog. No health issues are known, and his test for Mediterranean diseases was negative upon travel arrangements. Bentley is full of energy and has reached a healthy weight over the past few weeks. We are looking for a home for Bentley without cats, small pets, or young children. Ideally, his new home should have a garden and be located in a ground-floor apartment or house. His new humans should have prior dog experience, enjoy engaging in mental stimulation together, and be willing to continue working with Bentley. Bentley brings along many wonderful qualities that make him a loyal and lovable companion. Bentley is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and holds an EU pet passport. He can gladly be visited in 26129 Oldenburg. Vaccinations: Yes Mediterranean disease check: Yes Microchip: Yes Dangerous dog classification: No Contact person: Jana Bolduan Email:.

Impfungen Ja Mittelmeercheck Ja Microchip Ja Anlagehund Nein Schutzgebühr 500 € Ansprechpartner Jana Bolduan Email: Anfrageformular

About Bentley

What life with Bentley looks like

Bentley is a young adult german shepherd dog waiting at Helfende Hände e.V. in Germany.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Bentley, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Bentley?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Helfende Hände e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Bentley on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Bentley if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Helfende Hände e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Bentley already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Bentley isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Helfende Hände e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Bentley and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
