Adopt Benz

Doberman · Unknown · 9 months

Ech was named Benz, as I had to put an end to my previous life. My former owner decided to leave me behind at the shelter's gates. I was completely disoriented. Yes, it takes courage to adopt a dog, but it takes just as much to responsibly abandon one. Unfortunately, that was my case. This was very difficult for me. My tail and ears were cut off, although this practice has been illegal since 2018. My microchip was not registered, which is also against Luxembourgish law. My breed is often the subject of many prejudices, but I am a gentle, loyal, and attentive dog, very sensitive to my surroundings, especially when it comes to socialization and changes. Today, I am finally in good hands, at our shelter. If you have serious interest in Benz, you can contact us via email for more information.

Ech gouf Benz ëmbenannt, well ech hannert mengem vergaangenen Liewen e Stréch hu missten zéien. Mäi Schwanz a meng Oueren hunn se mir geschnidden, obwuel dës Praxis zënter 2018 illegal ass. Mäi Mikrochip war net registréiert, wat och géint d'lëtzebuergescht Gesetz ass. Meng Rass ass dacks Affer vu ville Virurteeler, awer ech sinn e léiwen, treien Hond, opmierksam op meng Ëmgéigend, an och ganz sensibel, besonnesch wat Sozialiséierung a Verännerungen ugeet. Haut sinn ech endlech a gudden Hänn, am Diddlenger Déierenasyl.

About Benz

What life with Benz looks like

Benz is a adult doberman dog waiting at SPAD Chats et Chiens Luxembourg in Dudelange.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇱🇺Adopting from Luxembourg

The shelter typically completes the animal's vaccinations, microchipping, and pet passport before adoption. Specific fees and process details vary by shelter and country — confirm directly via the contact details in the sidebar.

Frequently asked

Adopting Benz, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Benz?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. SPAD Chats et Chiens Luxembourg handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Benz on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Benz if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — SPAD Chats et Chiens Luxembourg will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Benz already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Benz isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with SPAD Chats et Chiens Luxembourg early rather than rehoming privately; they know Benz and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
