Male Wirehaired Dachshund Born 2015 Surrendered animal Neutered yes / [] no In the shelter since 13.06.2026 ________________________ Beppo came to us because his owner could no longer care for him due to health reasons and he did not show himself to be house-trained during his temporary care - but he actually is and it is easy to manage in a suitable home (see below)! Beppo currently lives in a foster home near Marburg and can be visited there or in the shelter by appointment (contact via the shelter). He is a thoroughly old, friendly and sociable Dachshund who wants nothing more than to be with his people all the time, preferably on the sofa. He goes through life with a lot of personality and even more optimism, is cute, brave and loves his routines and his people. Beppo would love to be with his people all the time, but then he doesn't need to be constantly occupied and coddled, but is also a lot in his own world, sniffs and observes his surroundings, is interested in what's going on, is brave and stubborn - typical Dachshund, of course. Once he has "arrived" at home, he can be cheeky, would also wander off alone and do his own thing, also claims space, but is lovable and takes the boundaries set by him well and directly. If Beppo wants to draw attention to himself or finds a reason, he is breed-typically loud with barking or whining. He would love to sleep with his people - it's nice with him in bed, but otherwise he also lies down willingly in a dog bed or on an armchair in the immediate vicinity. He gets along well with female dogs on an equal footing, ideally we would like him to have a Dachshund lady by his side. In his foster home, he lives with a Wirehaired Dachshund female and orients himself very well to her, so it falls him a little easier to be alone from time to time. To what extent he gets along with nice dogs, would have to be tested. In general, he is not bothered by other dogs, but if they hit or sprint with a lot of oomph, he takes on the energy and joins them loudly. Cats in the household do not interest him (but dogs should be used to them), outdoors he shows breed-typical hunting instinct. Beppo runs super on walks, looks after his people, loves to take small and larger rounds and behaves well with external stimuli and encounters. He never seems to have learned to do his business on walks, but would like to go to the toilet in his own garden at home - as long as you make that possible and keep an eye on him, house training is no problem. Direct access to a safe garden is therefore important for Beppo's health. He is doing well, he is lively, his blood values are top, his teeth look very good, we are still clarifying a heart murmur. He has a clouding of the eye and therefore has problems seeing well in the dark and care should be taken with his hind legs and more muscle should be built up there with healthy movement, so that Beppo can also be healthy in old age. We wish Beppo a nice home - preferably with people in retirement - who simply gives him time, love and Dachshund understanding and enjoys a slightly quirky, witty, fearless, above all lovable older gentleman! ________________________ (as of 19.08.2026) (Click on the pictures to see them in full size!) männlich Rauhaardackel Geboren 2015 Abgabetier Kastriert ja / [] nein Im Tierheim seit 13.06.2026 ________________________ Beppo kam zu uns, da sein Frauchen sich aus gesundheitlichen Gründen nicht mehr kümmern konnte und er bei seiner Übergangsbetreuung nicht stubenrein zeigte – das ist er eigentlich aber schon und es ist im passenden Zuhause gut zu managen (s.u..)! Beppo wohnt aktuell auf einer Pflegestelle in der Nähe von Marburg und kann dort oder im Tierheim nach Terminabsprache (Kontakt über das Tierheim) besucht werden. Er ist durch und durch ein alter, freundlicher und umgänglicher Dackelherr, der sich nichts mehr wünscht, als non-stop bei seinen Menschen sein zu dürfen, am liebsten mit auf dem Sofa. Er geht mit viel Persönlichkeit und noch mehr Optimismus durchs Leben, ist niedlich, tapfer und liebt seine Routinen und seine Menschen. Beppo möchte am liebsten ständig und immer beim Menschen sein, muss dann aber nicht durchgehend beschäftigt und bemuttert werden, sondern ist auch viel in seiner eigenen Welt, beschnüffelt und beobachtet seine Umgebung, interessiert sich für das Geschehen, ist mutig und dickköpfig – typisch Dackel eben. Wenn er erst einmal zuhause „angekommen“ ist, wird er auch mal vorwitzig, würde auch alleine abwandern und sein eigenes Ding machen, fordert ebeneso Raum ein, ist dabei aber lieb und nimmt Grenzen, die man ihm setzt, gut und direkt an. Wenn Beppo auf sich aufmerksam machen möchte oder einen Anlass findet, ist er rassetypisch lautstark mit Bellen oder Fiepen dabei. Er möchte unbedingt beim Menschen schlafen – mit im Bett ist schön, ansonsten legt er sich aber auch bereitwillig in ein Hundebett oder auf einen Sessel in der direkten Nähe. Mit Hündinnen auf Augenhöhe ist er gut verträglich, idealerweise wünschen wir ihm eine Dackeldame an der Seite. Auf seiner Pflegestelle lebt er mit einer Rauhaardackeline zusammen und orientiert sich sehr gut an ihr, auch ab und zu mal eben alleine zu bleiben, fällt ihm so ein wenig leichter. Inwieweit er mit netten Rüden zurechtkommt, müsste getestet werden. Generell lässt er sich von anderen Hunden nicht irritieren, wenn sie aber mit sehr viel Wumms anschlagen oder lossprinten, nimmt er die Energie voll auf und schließt sich ihnen lauthals an. Katzen im eigenen Haushalt interessieren ihn nicht (sollten Hunde aber gewöhnt sein), draußen zeigt er rassetypischen Jagdtrieb. Beppo läuft bei Spaziergängen super mit, schaut nach seinen Menschen, liebt es, kleine und größere Runden zu drehen und verhält sich gut bei Außenreizen und Begegnungen. Er scheint es nie gelernt zu haben, bei Spaziergängen sein Geschäft zu verrichten, sondern möchte zuhause im eigenen Garten gehen – solange man das ermöglicht und ein Auge auf ihn hat, ist die Stubenreinheit kein Problem. Direkter Zugang zu einem sicheren Garten ist also für Beppos Gesundheitlich geht es ihm gut, er ist munter, seine Blutwerte sind top, sein Gebiss sieht sehr gut aus, ein Herznebengräusch lassen wir noch abklären. Er hat eine Augentrübung und dadurch Probleme, im Dunklen gut zu sehen und es sollte auf seine Hinterhand geachtet werden und mit gesunder Bewegung dort mehr Muskulatur aufgebaut werden, damit Beppo auch im Alter möglichst gesund unterwegs sein kann. Wir wünschen Beppo ein schönes Zuhause – gerne bei Menschen im Ruhestand – das ihm einfach Zeit, Liebe und Dackelverstand entgegenbringt und Freude an einem etwas kauzigen, witzigen, unerschrockenen, vor allem aber lieben älteren Herrn hat! ________________________ (Stand 19.08.2026) (Bilder anklicken um sie in voller Größe zu sehen!)
