🆘BER NEEDS ADOPTION ASAP 🆘 ‼️ We urgently need a home for BER!! In shelter conditions, he hurts his paws on the pillows. This causes him great pain, which often prevents him from going for walks, and in shelter conditions, this is the only pleasure and the only meaning of life for dogs. We are very asking, if you have conditions for a dog and live in a quiet area, consider adopting Ber!! Loyal, sensitive, smart, and above all, loves with all his heart ❤ This is our BER ❤ Bercio has been waiting at the animal shelter since 2020... and has already spent half of his life there. Ber is the perfect dog! * walks beautifully on a leash, doesn't pull! calmly and politely walks beside a person * can calmly pass by other dogs, though he should be an only dog at home :) * loves to learn and finds it easy! knows basic commands, and even tried his hand at Nosework! Ber loves working with people, and spending time together actively gives him a lot of joy * allows grooming procedures (bath, brushing, nail trimming, checking paws) * is trained on a muzzle * LOVES riding in a car! he doesn't have motion sickness, he jumps into the car "like it's his own" :) He is always ready for a trip. He loves his people! With friendly people he could spend all the time. He loves petting, sitting together in nature, can act like a puppy. He is willing to play and go on long trips, but when needed, he can switch to a rest mode. Walks with him are pure pleasure. He approaches strangers with reserve, but quickly softens and gladly befriends new volunteers. Ber is a sensitive dog, needs stability, predictable environment, peace. The amount of stimuli in the city overwhelms him, so we are looking for a home outside the city or on the outskirts. Ber doesn't tolerate noise, chaos and lack of routine - living in the city was exhausting for him, so we are looking for a home in a quiet area, away from the city noise. When conditions for Ber are favorable, he is a dog without problems, unfortunately, chaos causes him a lot of stress. We are waiting for calls! It's time to end his homeless years! More information: Facebook Instagram Due to the more demanding character, Ber will need a greater number of introductory walks than specified in the adoption procedure, as well as a home visit.

Ber to pies idealny! Spacery z nim to czysta przyjemność. About Ber

What life with Ber looks like

Ber is a medium-sized senior dog waiting at Schronisko Na Paluchu in Warsaw.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

Note from the shelter: Sensitive paws that get injured in kennel conditions causing pain and difficulty walking. Needs quiet environment away from city noise and chaos.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Ber, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Ber?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko Na Paluchu handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Ber on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Ber if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko Na Paluchu will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Ber already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Ber isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko Na Paluchu early rather than rehoming privately; they know Ber and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
