Besnyői Baldó

Mixed Breed · Male · Adult · 7 years

We joined forces again, and this time our rescue team consisting of almost 20 animal welfare organizations arrived at the settlement of Besnyő in Fejér County. We saved more than 60 lives! The site had an unorganized pen - according to locals it was always like that - a particularly aggressive animal keeper, trash, dirt, filth and smell everywhere. 60 fox-like, extremely thin dogs in one pack, many with injuries, signs of skin diseases, several different age litters, the puppies' bellies swollen from parasites, the mothers had practically eaten themselves up from nursing. They are not given more food because then they would not hunt rats properly. At Baldó, they diagnosed PRA disease, which is an inherited, genetic eye disease, making them completely blind. Four thin, fox-like dogs of the type named Baldó arrived at the Noé Animal Shelter Foundation, temporarily removed during the administrative procedure. After the official procedure is closed, they can be adopted. One small thin Baldó who arrived microchipped. Friendly, although shy, which is not surprising since it probably received little care and love so far. We very much hope that it will be able to forget its difficult past in a new family. Baldó is vaccinated, microchipped, and can be adopted as a family member after being spayed.

60 foxiszerű, csontsovány kutya, egyetlen falkában, sokukon sérülések, bőrbetegség jelei, több különböző korú alom, a babák pocakja a férgektől hatalmasra duzzadva, a mamák szinte felemésztették magukat a szoptatásban. Azért nem kapnak többet enni, mert akkor nem patkányoznak rendesen. Baldónál PRA betegséget diagnosztizáltak, amely egy öröklődő, genetikai eredetű szembetegség, teljesen vak.A Noé Állatotthon Alapítványhoz, a közigazgatási eljárás során ideiglenes kiemeléssel, 4 sovány foxi jellegű kutya érkezett.

About Besnyői Baldó

What life with Besnyői Baldó looks like

Besnyői Baldó is a small adult mixed breed dog waiting at Noé Állatotthon in Budapest.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

Note from the shelter: Completely blind due to PRA (Progressive Retinal Atrophy), a hereditary genetic eye disease. Requires special care and patient owner.

🇭🇺Adopting from Hungary

Hungarian shelters operate at high capacity given the country's stray population. Animals leave sterilized, chipped, and with a passport. Many shelters coordinate transport to Germany, Austria, and the Nordics.

Frequently asked

Adopting Besnyői Baldó, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Besnyői Baldó?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Noé Állatotthon handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Besnyői Baldó on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Besnyői Baldó if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Noé Állatotthon will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Besnyői Baldó already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Besnyői Baldó isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Noé Állatotthon early rather than rehoming privately; they know Besnyői Baldó and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (HU). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
