Betina

Mixed Breed · Unknown

Betina is just a few months old and already has a sad story. She lived with her mom Bety, dad Chut, and brother Chutin on the property of an old hunter. No one really cared for the little family. Food was thrown over the fence, and the water was so poorly maintained that it was immediately clear: no one regularly checked on the dogs. So Betina doesn't know a normal puppy life. No loving home, no family showing her the world, no people giving her security and taking her first important steps in life. That's exactly why we want to make sure her life goes on very differently. Betina is a young Podenca Andaluz. Podencos are special dogs: sensitive, intelligent, attentive, and incredibly fascinating. They are originally hunting dogs and therefore often have a strong hunting instinct, a keen nose, and a lot of fun exploring their surroundings. At the same time, they are often very gentle and build a close and trusting relationship with their humans. Betina can now learn how beautiful the world can be. She needs people who show her with patience and loving consistency what belongs to dog life. Housebreaking, leash, everyday life, different noises and situations - she probably needs to learn all of this.

DE·Show original

Betina kennt also keinen normalen Welpenalltag.

About Betina

What life with Betina looks like

Betina is a medium-sized adult mixed breed dog waiting at Tierschutzverein Europa in München.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Betina, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Betina?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein Europa handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Betina on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Betina if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein Europa will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Betina already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Betina isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein Europa early rather than rehoming privately; they know Betina and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
