Adopt Betsy

Mixed Breed · Female · Adult · 5 years

Betsy is looking for a home! Betsy is a young kitten born in 2020, from the Sipa area. A six-membered cat family came into my care, and the first to arrive at the shelter were Betsy and Baiba. While Baiba was already being socialized after a few weeks of arriving, Betsy's adaptation has been a bit more difficult. At first, she was quite aggressive, hissed, and swatted with her paws. Now she has become much calmer, but she is still not fully settled. On the other hand, Betsy loves new things, and curiosity is a great basis for getting used to people! She also gets along very well with other cats. Betsy still needs a lot of time and a calm approach, but progress would certainly be faster in a home with confident people, so I really hope she finds a home soon. Betsy has had all necessary procedures done, she is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and receives regular parasite treatment. If you feel that you are ready for the challenge and want to win the heart of a slightly more stubborn kitten, please contact us!

Betsy otsib kodu! Tekkis huvi? Täida ankeet ja paku kodu!

About Betsy

What life with Betsy looks like

Betsy is a adult mixed breed cat waiting at Gabrieli Loomade Elu MTÜ in Estonia.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇪🇪Adopting from Estonia

The shelter typically completes the animal's vaccinations, microchipping, and pet passport before adoption. Specific fees and process details vary by shelter and country — confirm directly via the contact details in the sidebar.

Frequently asked

Adopting Betsy, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Betsy?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Gabrieli Loomade Elu MTÜ handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Betsy on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Betsy if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Gabrieli Loomade Elu MTÜ will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Betsy already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Betsy isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Gabrieli Loomade Elu MTÜ early rather than rehoming privately; they know Betsy and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (ET). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
