Bianca

German Shepherd · Female · Adult · 4 years

Hello, I am Bianca … a clever, energetic female dog who still has a lot to learn – with the right people by my side. I am a typical representative of my breed: attentive, beautiful, and hardworking. I get excited about bushes too, but I just have such a thirst for activity and my own home! 🙂 Would you like to know more about me? I came from a seizure into the animal shelter and probably didn't see much of the world before. This means that I still have a lot to learn – but I am smart and try my best! With my primary caregiver, I am very clingy, and I need some time with strangers to build trust. I am an attentive, watchful female dog with a lot of energy. My leash manners have improved a lot in the animal shelter, but in exciting situations, I can still be quite impulsive. Water is my favorite! I am not into hunting imitation games. I know how to wear a muzzle and accept it well. However, I tend to defend my resources – so my people should be sovereign and experienced. I wish for … a home with dog-experienced people who give me security. A house with an enclosed yard in a quiet area would be ideal, as I am still quite biddable. Children should not live in my home. With other dogs, I am compatible after a get-to-know-you phase and could move to well-socialized fellow animals. Please plan for the get-to-know-you phase with multiple visits, as I need time to build trust. Additionally, husbandry for me requires a landlord's permit, and the veterinary office will be informed of an adoption. If you can imagine giving me a wonderful home, feel free to contact us using the form below.

About Bianca

What life with Bianca looks like

Bianca is a large adult german shepherd dog waiting at Tierheim Berlin Falkenberg in Berlin.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

Note from the shelter: Resource guarding tendencies, requires muzzle training, needs veterinary office notification upon adoption

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Bianca, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Bianca?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Berlin Falkenberg handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Bianca on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Bianca if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Berlin Falkenberg will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Bianca already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Bianca isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Berlin Falkenberg early rather than rehoming privately; they know Bianca and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
