Bierek

Mixed Breed · Male

Bierek arrived at our shelter in March in a very poor condition. Looking at him today, it’s hard to believe how much he’s overcome. After his illness, he no longer shows any trace of it. He’s regained his strength, energy, and is once again enjoying life like a true kitten. Currently, Bierek is neutered, vaccinated, and ready to go. All he’s missing now is his own home. This is a lively cat. Very active, playful, and incredibly social. He talks a lot, engages with people, does silly antics, and can even brighten up even the grumpiest of days. In his kennel, he gets bored easily. Often, the entire kennel shakes because Bierek just came up with another acrobatic stunt or play idea. It’s hard not to smile then. He loves toys and pranks. When interacting with other cats, everything depends on the right introduction, so a calm socialization will be needed. But he could also find himself as the only royal cat in a home. At the vet or during travel, he shows a more uncertain side. Then he becomes a bit timid and needs support and patience. His confidence definitely wanes, but he shows no aggression. Bierek is very eager for a person who will never have to fight for peace, food, and attention. Someone who will love his fluffy fur, silly talk, and the huge energy trapped in his small feline body.

PL·Show original

Dużo “gada”, zaczepia człowieka, robi śmieszne fikołki i potrafi rozbawić nawet w gorszy dzień. W klatce zwyczajnie się nudzi. Często aż cała kennelowa klatka się trzęsie, bo Bierek właśnie wymyślił sobie kolejną akrobację albo próbę zabawy. Trudno się wtedy nie uśmiechnąć. Uwielbia zabawki i wygłupy. Testy FIV/FELV ujemne

About Bierek

What life with Bierek looks like

Bierek is a adult mixed breed cat waiting at Fundacja EkoStraż in Wrocław.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Bierek, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Bierek?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Fundacja EkoStraż handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Bierek on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Bierek if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Fundacja EkoStraż will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Bierek already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Bierek isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Fundacja EkoStraż early rather than rehoming privately; they know Bierek and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
