Adopt Bimbo

Mixed Breed · Male · Young · 2 years

About 2 years old (born around March 6, 2024), 30 cm, 5.9 kg, male, not neutered, tested negative for feline Leishmaniosis on December 20, 2025, will be retested before travel arrangements on a foster home in KT BE Bimbo – a little sunbeam on four paws Bimbo is a loving, social, and very playful dog who conquers hearts in the blink of an eye. When he came to our partner animal shelter, the adjustment for him was initially very hard. In the first few days, he suffered greatly from being separated from his family, constantly looking longingly at the door, hoping they would come back for him. But with much patience, affection, and empathy, Bimbo slowly began to trust. Step by step, he opened his heart, approached the caregivers, and even took treats out of their hands. Today, he shows what a wonderful dog he really is. Bimbo was gently introduced to contact with other dogs by a trainer and gets along very well with them. Recently, he played in the courtyard with Alanis, Duna, and Toby and clearly had fun. He especially loves playing with the ball, even though he prefers to keep it to himself and doesn't give it up. Throughout, he constantly seeks the company of humans, climbs onto their laps, and demands affection. He is simply irresistible. He also now runs well on a leash. His future home Bimbo is a dog who quickly bonds with his people; it takes just one day, and you are already best friends. He is also suitable for people without dog experience. However, we do not see a home with very young children, nor a household with dominant dogs or cats, which he unfortunately does not like. His story Bimbo's family had unfortunately no time for him: The mother started a new job, the son moved to study in Madrid. Reluctantly, they brought him to the Protectora. The separation hit Bimbo hard, but at least he was spared the fate of waiting alone in an apartment for many hours every day. Now, Bimbo is ready for a new chapter – with people who want to give him time, love, and a real home. Videos March 26: Videos Feb. 26:

About Bimbo

What life with Bimbo looks like

Bimbo is a small young adult mixed breed dog waiting at home4dogs in Home4dogs.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇨🇭Adopting from Switzerland

Swiss shelters require a home visit (Platzkontrolle) and proof of suitable accommodation. Cantons each have their own additional dog-keeping requirements (e.g. SKN training in some areas). Animals leave sterilized and chipped.

Frequently asked

Adopting Bimbo, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Bimbo?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. home4dogs handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Bimbo on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Bimbo if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — home4dogs will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Bimbo already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Bimbo isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with home4dogs early rather than rehoming privately; they know Bimbo and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
