Binx

Mixed Breed Cat · Male · Young · 2 years

Binx – big, beautiful and full of love! Binx is a big boy with a big heart and a big appetite! He is the very definition of a gentle giant, weighing in at 6.5kg, he is a teddy bear come to life. From a scared and cautious boy on arrival, Binx has worked hard to come out of his shell and show off what an excellent little man he really is. Affectionate, playful and talkative; he’s the whole package! In an evening he loves nothing better than climbing up for a cuddle and purring his enormous head off as he gets all the scratches and snuggles he deserves. He’d love nothing better than someone to cuddle up with each night and to play with each day. When it comes to cuddles ‘personal space’ becomes ‘our’ space! Links to videos of Binx: Binx 1 Binx 2 Binx 3 Binx 4 Binx 5 This is a boy that deserves the very best and has so much to give in return. He happily talks and chirps back and, for such a big boy, has a very sweet trill. He’s a curious guy and, after time to settle in and a careful introduction, would likely do well with another feline friend. He’s met a few of the resident felines in his foster home and has been nothing less than a slightly confused gentleman. Binx needs someone who will make the time to really play with him. He loves chasing feather wand toys until he wears himself out and relaxing by scratching on cardboard scratchers. He’s not a huge fan of being picked up but, being the large man he is, that’s probably for the best! Binx is so ready to be the heart of his very own home. Anyone with space in their heart and house for this special boy will truly have a friend for life. It’s important to note that if his foster mum didn’t already have a full house of four demanding girls she would not be letting him go, but hopes that someone out there with love to give and time to devote to playing will be his perfect match. About Binx

What life with Binx looks like

Binx is an extra-large young adult mixed breed cat cat waiting at Avid in United Kingdom.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Binx, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Binx?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Avid handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Binx on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Binx if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Avid will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Binx already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Binx isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Avid early rather than rehoming privately; they know Binx and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
