** Please note the ‘Contact for Availability’ function is currently not working. Please email the Rescue direct () if you are enquiring about an animal and include the animal’s name ** This handsome boy arrived into our care recently after spending almost a year living in a derelict building. Thankfully, some very kind people from the local Jobcentre had been feeding him and looking out for him during that time, making sure he was not completely alone. It did not take Biscuit long to settle in with us. We think he was simply relieved to finally be somewhere safe, warm, and surrounded by love. Now it is Biscuit’s turn to find a family of his own. Biscuit is a gentle, easy-going boy who absolutely loves his food! He can be a little wary at first, which is completely understandable after everything he has been through, but he is growing in confidence every day as he realises he no longer has to fend for himself. He could live with other neutered cats and may also be happy to share his home with a cat-friendly dog. He would also be suitable for cat-savvy children who understand that he may need a little time to settle. Biscuit is a lovely, clean boy who uses his litter tray perfectly. He has had his health check, has started his vaccinations, and is neutered, microchipped, and ready to begin the next chapter of his life. About Biscuit

What life with Biscuit looks like

Biscuit is a adult mixed breed cat cat waiting at Pennine Pen Animal Rescue CIO in United Kingdom.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Biscuit, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Biscuit?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Pennine Pen Animal Rescue CIO handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Biscuit on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Biscuit if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Pennine Pen Animal Rescue CIO will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Biscuit already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Biscuit isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Pennine Pen Animal Rescue CIO early rather than rehoming privately; they know Biscuit and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
