Markus is housed at the Swiss Ranch. We provide assistance for the Animal Protection Center/Swiss Ranch. The care of Markus costs an average of 100.00 CHF per month, for which we are looking for sponsors. For 2026, monthly support from sponsors is available: 0,- CHF One-time donations: 0.00 CHF Total so far: 0.00 CHF ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Current description May 2026: Markus does not come from poor conditions. He comes from a completely isolated life. He and three other dogs were taken from a house during an official seizure, where a total of fifteen dogs were kept in very small space. No everyday life as we know it. No outside. No contact with the world. No real stimuli. No life - just a state. What is obvious to us is simply not present for these dogs. Markus knows no security through people. No orientation. No routine. Things like noises, movement or the sky itself are not normality for him - but overwhelm. And yet: he stands out. Not because he is easy. But because he is the one who takes the highest risk within this system. He was the first one to take food from the hand. Not a big moment for outsiders - for him a real step out of the standstill. But you should not be deceived by this. Markus is not a dog that just needs a little time. He is a dog that starts from zero. He can't categorize anything, compensate for anything, or cover anything up. If he is unsure, he is unsure. Period. What he needs is not pity and not quick solutions. He needs someone who understands how such dogs function. Someone who does not expect that bonds form immediately. Who can tolerate that progress is sometimes barely visible. Who does not interpret, but observes. And who does not demand, but offers. Markus is not looking for a person who 'saves' him. He is looking for someone who takes him seriously. Someone who gives him structure without overwhelming him. Someone who gives him security without pressuring him. And who accepts that trust is not given freely - but has to be earned. Whether Markus will go this way? Yes. Whether he goes quickly? No. But when he arrives, he arrives fully. Not halfway. Then properly. Until we find people for Markus, we are looking for sponsors for Markus. *If more donations are received than indicated, they will be used for the association's purposes. About Bitte spenden Sie hier

What life with Bitte spenden Sie hier looks like

Bitte spenden Sie hier is a adult dachshund dog waiting at Pfotenhilfe-Ungarn e.V. in Schnarup-Thumby.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Bitte spenden Sie hier, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Bitte spenden Sie hier?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Pfotenhilfe-Ungarn e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Bitte spenden Sie hier on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Bitte spenden Sie hier if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Pfotenhilfe-Ungarn e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Bitte spenden Sie hier already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Bitte spenden Sie hier isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Pfotenhilfe-Ungarn e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Bitte spenden Sie hier and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
