Bjelle

adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Bjelle has found her home! Her story: Fantanele, Romania. Our lovely Bjelle is eagerly waiting for her people! Bjelle is in her best age, around 2 years old. Puberty flares are slowly behind her, but she’s still young enough to lead a completely fulfilled life. Bjelle is initially a bit shy, but when she realizes that her counterpart means her well, she warms up and approaches willingly. She seems not to be very active. Compatibility with others with other dogs still needs to be tested. Bjelle has a shoulder height of about 40 cm and weighs around 19 kg, giving her an average size. For the pretty female dog, we wish for sensitive people who will take her by the paw and go with her on the path to a new life. She probably hasn’t lived in a household before and needs to learn all the rules there. Patience and some experience in dealing with shy dogs are certainly an advantage. And we are sure that from the reserved Bjelle, a great dog will develop if given the time she needs. She will then enjoy beautiful walks in nature as well as the cuddles of her people. We see Bjelle in a more rural home, without much hustle and bustle. Consistent trusted people are her preference, and a garden would be great, but not a must. However, a positive reinforcement training style is a must, because Bjelle has likely suffered enough in her young life. Our Bjelle travels neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea-treated. She brings her EU Companion Animal Passport and can travel after a positive Bjelle needs a home! A foster home would also be very helpful for her! Many thanks to Peggy W.! You gave Bjelle her beautiful name! A big thank you also goes to Ilka T., who has taken on a monthly sponsorship for Bjelle. As of: 18.02.

Stand: 18.02.2024

About Bjelle

What life with Bjelle looks like

Bjelle is a medium-sized young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Bjelle, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Bjelle?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Bjelle on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Bjelle if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Bjelle already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Bjelle isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Bjelle and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
