adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this dog now! Blacky has found a home! His story: Sweet puppy Blacky longs for his own home! Blacky was one of our emergency cases, found on the street with his siblings (Libby, Pippuri, and Lyra) in a cardboard box. Infested with worms, parasites, and in a pitiful state. Now they are in the best health, around 4 months old, and ready for travel arrangements! Blacky is the leader of his pack. He is incredibly people-oriented and open. Although he has a black coat, which makes him more unobtrusive, he is stunningly beautiful and has absolutely shining, wonderful fur. Blacky is more or less balanced in temperament and a very sweet puppy. Overall, the siblings are really great. They bring a lot of fun into life and with a puppy like Blacky, it will surely not get boring. He gets along well with other dogs. We appreciate that he will likely reach a medium size. Blacky is a mixed breed and we don't know what traits he will develop when he matures. Blacky is looking for people who don't have too many expectations of him and show him how a normal dog life works. He is still a baby and has a lot to learn. One or two mishaps shouldn't be held against him and Blacky should always be guided with a positive reinforcement training style. He is looking forward to his new life with beautiful nature walks, lots of snuggling hours, and also a visit to puppy school. Puppies should not be left alone as much as possible in their first year of life. Additionally, the more demanding pubertal phase is approaching. The hormone chaos turns the lives of the little rascals upside down. They "forget" a lot of what they have learned and their ears are on full blast. Therefore, it is especially important in this phase to be consistent but loving in training. And there is also good news: This phase will pass! Our Blacky is microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea-treated. He brings an EU pet passport and can be adopted after a positive match. If you fall in love with the black fur ball? Many thanks, Maria! You have given Blacky his name! Date: 16.03.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! Vielen Dank Maria! Du hast Blacky seinen Namen geschenkt! Stand: 16.03.2025

About Blacky

What life with Blacky looks like

Blacky is a medium-sized puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Blacky, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Blacky?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Blacky on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Blacky if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Blacky already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Blacky isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Blacky and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
