adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Now request this dog! Blue has found her home! Her story: Eyes as blue and deep as the ocean – that is our female dog Blue. Her name is Program and we are rarely captivated by a look as extraordinary as hers. But an ocean can also be very stormy and turbulent – that's why we are searching for a human companion for our beauty Blue with dog experience, patience, and empathy. Her story lies before us in fragments: Blue lived together with three other dogs on a factory farm. Unfortunately, all were to be killed, so they came to our private shelter. Blue has already lived there for several months and suffers greatly from being confined. Blue does not immediately trust humans. She appears very shy and reserved at first. But over time, she opens up and builds trust. Blue is looking for people who give her time and space and allow her to come to them at her own pace. Blue is a medium-sized female dog at 55 cm in height and 23 kg – ideal for all adventures. In our Blue, there may be Husky genes, so long walks, demanding training sessions, in other words: physical and mental exertion, should be two stable pillars in her life. Additionally, Blue wishes for a rural environment and would like a garden. The Hunde-1×1 wants to learn from Blue and is looking forward to many new tasks. A first dog could be helpful, as Blue gets along well with other dogs. How she stands with cats is currently unknown. Has Blue with her endless deep blue eyes touched your heart? We wish for the sad blues in her life to disappear and for only happy melodies to accompany her existence. The suitcase of our extraordinary beauty is already packed. Blue brings her EU pet passport, is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, treated for fleas, and can be adopted after a positive foster home experience. Blue would initially be very happy with a foster home! Thank you, Ingrid N., for giving Blue this meaningful name and thus an identity and the chance at a beautiful dog life. As of: 27.08.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! Stand: 27.08.2025

About Blue

What life with Blue looks like

Blue is a large adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Blue, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Blue?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Blue on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Blue if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Blue already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Blue isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Blue and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
