Bluey

Male · Baby · 5 months

Bluey is a lovely Mini Lop who is looking for his forever home through our Home from Home adoption scheme.Bluey is an affectionate boy who loves attention and is known for giving little licks to show you just how much he loves you! He enjoys being stroked and will tolerate being picked up and groomed for short periods, although, like all rabbits, he will need to be handled gently and respectfully.Bluey originally lived happily with his brother, but sadly the pair had a falling out and, despite his current owner’s best efforts, they were unable to successfully re-bond them. Bluey is therefore looking for a home where he can be introduced to and bonded with a female rabbit, so he can once again have a bunny companion.Bluey could live with children as long as they are respectful, gentle and understand how to handle rabbits safely and carefully. He is currently used to living outdoors, so an outdoor set-up may be preferred. However, an indoor home could also be considered for the right family, provided he has plenty of space, enrichment and opportunities to exercise.Bluey is a sweet and affectionate boy who has lots of love to give, and we are looking for a loving home where he can settle in and enjoy the company of a bunny friend for years to come. About Bluey

What life with Bluey looks like

Bluey is a puppy/kitten rabbit waiting at National Animal Welfare Trust in Watford.

Rabbits are social animals — most shelters recommend adopting them in bonded pairs rather than alone. They need fresh hay daily, several hours of out-of-cage time, and rabbit-safe spaces to explore. They live eight to twelve years, longer than many people expect.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Bluey, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Bluey?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. National Animal Welfare Trust handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Bluey on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Bluey if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — National Animal Welfare Trust will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Bluey already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most rabbits on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Bluey isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with National Animal Welfare Trust early rather than rehoming privately; they know Bluey and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
