Adopt Bluey

adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Now request this dog! When Bluey first makes eye contact, you won't quickly forget that moment. With a shining blue and a warm, amber eye, this beautiful Husky-Mix female dog looks deeply into her counterpart's soul. Her start in life was far from easy: found on the street, she was severely emaciated, weak, and exhausted. In the first two days at her Romanian foster home, she did exactly what her abused body desperately needed: she slept, ate, and recovered her first bit of strength. Currently, she shows her most vulnerable side: a delicate, incredibly clingy, and trusting female dog, who actively seeks the company of humans. But one should not be deceived by her current weakness. Bluey is currently being treated for Anaplasmosis. Once she overcomes this, gains weight, and finally arrives in a safe home, she will reveal her true nature. As a Husky-mixed breed, and likely in the middle of puberty, she brings with her typical Husky traits that her future owners should get to know and appreciate. Huskies are independent, highly intelligent, and extremely energetic bundles of energy. When Bluey's life force is fully awake, she won't be a couch potato. She will need an active outlet for her mind and body, whether through long hikes, head work, or perhaps even pulling a cart. Additionally, she is genetically predisposed to a strong prey drive, which will require extensive training for natural prey activities. How she reacts to other dogs or cats cannot be tested due to her current condition. As a teenager, she will test her limits, a loving consequence, patience, and a sense of humor will be needed. We are looking for people with dog experience (ideally with Nordic breeds) who can give her the necessary time to recover, but also be prepared to lead the whirlwind she will soon become. Bluey travels neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea-treated, together with her EU pet passport. Thank you, Alexandra D. You have given Bluey her name and identity. As of 25.05.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen!

About Bluey

What life with Bluey looks like

Bluey is a young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Bluey, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Bluey?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Bluey on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Bluey if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Bluey already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Bluey isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Bluey and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
