Bob

Male · Adult · 4 years

Bob is a TTB-type dog looking for a responsible home that understands the needs and temperament of bull-type breeds. This dog requires time, patience, and consistency. During initial interactions, he may react by barking and could even try to intimidate people—sometimes grabbing clothing with his teeth or pushing people away by jumping. However, once a bond is established, he reveals an entirely different side: he’s joyful around familiar people and eagerly seeks affection. Bob has a strong bond with his volunteer caregivers, whom he works with regularly and fully trusts. Bob absolutely loves scent-based activities: scent mats, chew toys, scent games, and exploratory play. These activities bring him great satisfaction and help him calm down. He does well on a leash—he doesn’t pull, maintains good contact with his handler, and responds reliably to recall commands. Walks with him are peaceful and enjoyable, especially in familiar surroundings. In new situations, though, he can become anxious. Bob is afraid of loud noises, such as passing trains or buses. Sudden, unfamiliar sounds also trigger stress in him. Therefore, he needs a calm, predictable environment and a caregiver who can provide him with a sense of security. In the past, aversive methods were used with Bob, which led to the development of fear-based aggression in his home environment. Today, he works with volunteers using positive reinforcement techniques, which have proven highly effective. He has no problem being left alone at home. For Bob, we’re looking for a home that: – has experience working with TTB-type dogs, – uses exclusively positive training methods, – is patient, calm, and consistent, – is willing to work on building the dog’s confidence and relationship. Bob would thrive best in a quiet home without small children and without excessive stimuli. He could live in a house with a yard or in an apartment—as long as he’s provided with a daily dose of exercise and mental stimulation.

PL·Show original

Bob to pies w typie TTB, który szuka odpowiedzialnego domu znającego potrzeby i charakter ras typu bull. To pies wymagający czasu, cierpliwości i konsekwencji. Dla Boba szukamy domu: – doświadczonego w pracy z psami typu TTB, – stosującego wyłącznie pozytywne metody szkoleniowe, – cierpliwego, spokojnego i konsekwentnego, – gotowego do pracy nad relacją i pewnością siebie psa.

About Bob

What life with Bob looks like

Bob is a medium-sized adult dog waiting at Schronisko dla Zwierząt w Poznaniu in Poznan.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Bob, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Bob?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko dla Zwierząt w Poznaniu handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Bob on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Bob if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko dla Zwierząt w Poznaniu will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Bob already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Bob isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko dla Zwierząt w Poznaniu early rather than rehoming privately; they know Bob and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
