Bobi

Mixed Breed · Male · Adult · 8 years

Bobi came to us from a resort where he lived wildly with many dogs (like cats), some of the dogs were caught some time ago. He came to us with Theodore. We are currently working on trust. Bobi goes out of the box to the runway, takes treats from his hand, has a collar on and can be attached to a leash. There is no talk of walks yet, the tension on the leash causes him stress and withdrawal. This is our current challenge :) The shelter is a difficult, even very difficult place to live for dogs. Constant noise, lack of sleep, overstimulation - it does not promote progress. You need to add that my work with him is once a week. So the whole socialization process of Bobi would have been much shorter in home conditions. We are looking for an experienced caregiver for him (and his friend) who would take on the challenge of caring for these demanding oddballs. Love and good intentions are not enough here. A conscious and responsible approach is needed. A lot of patience and commitment. But it's worth it! It's a great thing and a great satisfaction to save someone's life. More information, send SMS - I'll call back. Kasia, If you want to help this dog and can't adopt him - we invite you for walks! From Tuesday to Sunday, during the hours.

Dużo cierpliwości i zaangażowania. Ale warto! To świetna sprawa i duża satysfakcja uratować czyjeś życie. Więcej informacji, wyślij SMS- oddzwonię. About Bobi

What life with Bobi looks like

Bobi is a large adult mixed breed dog waiting at Schronisko Choszczno in Poland.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Bobi, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Bobi?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko Choszczno handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Bobi on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Bobi if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko Choszczno will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Bobi already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Bobi isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko Choszczno early rather than rehoming privately; they know Bobi and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
