Bodie &

Unknown · Young · 1 year

Hiya! I’m Bodie, and I’m a very sweet boy looking for a new home with my friend, Nora. We’ve had a turbulent start to our lives and have had 4 homes already – not due to any fault of our own. We love being around people and just want to have our fifth and final home to be happy in and call our own. Our personalities: We’re both very friendly and affectionate cats. I’m the younger of us both and have very kitten like behaviour. I love to play and run around but equally enjoy the company of humans and adore being fussed over. I have a huge but busy personality! Nora is on the quieter side. She’s not as busy as me, but she still loves to play and trot about the cattery - although she much prefers finding a patch of sunshine to lay in. Nora likes to be fussed over too but can get a bit nippy if she’s had enough. We are a bonded pair although I think I like Nora more than Nora likes me! I can be a bit rough when playing with her but she’s not afraid to give as good as she gets. We do lots of play fighting and general play together but we’re also happy enough to do our own things at times. Children: Due to past experiences, we are terrified of children and must be rehomed in an adult-only home. We could live with older teenagers. It would be preferable if our new home also doesn’t have visiting children. Other animals: We’ve had bad experiences with dogs in the past and are very scared of them so no doggies or visiting dogs in our new home please. I don’t seem to mind the other cats in the cattery, but Nora doesn’t like them – so it would be better if we were the only pets in the home, please. Additional needs: You’ll have noticed by now that we have a distinct lack of fur! That is because we are Sphynx cats. It would be preferable if our new owner has experience of the breed or willing to research our breed thoroughly to ensure they can provide the correct care for us. We require regular maintenance which is essential for our health and hygiene and we can be prone to breed-specific health issues. We’ve been indoor cats but absolutely love going outside now we have access. We would love to have a garden of our own to play in, preferably away from busy roads so we can explore the outside world safely. It’s not known whether we will wander or hunt but it’s likely our owners should expect a ‘gift’ or two! Having 3 homes in the last year has been a bumpy journey, but despite everything, we have so much love left to give – will you be the one to give us our happily ever after? Love, Bodie and Nora xxx

About Bodie &

What life with Bodie & looks like

Bodie & is an extra-large young adult cat waiting at Raystede Centre in Ringmer.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Bodie &, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Bodie &?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Raystede Centre handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Bodie & on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Bodie & if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Raystede Centre will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Bodie & already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Bodie & isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Raystede Centre early rather than rehoming privately; they know Bodie & and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
