Adopt Bohemia

Mixed Breed · Unknown

Eyes the color of honey? Check – exactly these belong to the beautiful female dog Bohemia. Bohemia is a large, noble, and loving mixed-breed female dog with shining white fur, searching for her own home. Bohemia was seen near an industrial building that was in the possession of a private individual. This person was working on the field when Bohemia "came around the corner." It was probably because this person was somewhat afraid of dogs, as they "raised the alarm" that a large mixed-breed puppy was nearby and wouldn't let anyone near. This was probably a bit exaggerated, as Bohemia was only somewhat suspicious of the person but was quite receptive with some food. She didn't want to be petted yet, but the food certainly lured her in, and with a leash, she could be secured quite well. Bohemia was never aggressive during her securing, but only somewhat suspicious because she simply didn't know what the people had in mind. At the animal shelter, some work is already being done with Bohemia, and one can see that she very much enjoys learning from and with people. The small training sessions are already being mastered by Bohemia quite well if one works patiently and consistently with her. Bohemia is still young, and certainly there will be moments when she questions the rules, but then her favorite people are responsible, who will lovingly and consistently show her the right path. Bohemia already knows that she has to wear a harness and go for walks with the leash. Sometimes she is still a little wild bee, who likes to flit around and jump around, but that is completely natural, as Bohemia is still a young pup and currently has little running space at the animal shelter, and somehow her energy has to go somewhere. With the right people by Bohemias side, good dog training classes behind her, and a lot of shared time, Bohemia will certainly become the dream dog that one has always wished for.

About Bohemia

What life with Bohemia looks like

Bohemia is a large adult mixed breed dog waiting at Tierschutzverein Europa in München.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Bohemia, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Bohemia?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein Europa handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Bohemia on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Bohemia if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein Europa will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Bohemia already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Bohemia isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein Europa early rather than rehoming privately; they know Bohemia and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
