Boksas

Mixed Breed · Male · Young · 3 years

Boxer has been with us for a year. During this time, we have seen only his good qualities: friendly with people and other dogs, playful, wants human attention. Unfortunately, we cannot hide that he came to us because he attacked his owners, as they said when the phone rang. At first, no one was allowed to walk him and was told to silence their phones when visiting him. One day, a volunteer noticed tears in Boxer's eyes and cried together. Boxer is a sensitive dog and experienced everything that happened to him very painfully. Volunteers started walking him, playing, and even chipping him showed no aggression or anger. Phones rang near him, he didn't react to the sound at all. Not once in all the years in the shelter did he behave badly. He even went home, got along well with another pet, but started to protect the owner from his other half. And knowing the backstory, which we couldn't hide, people returned him. Volunteers noticed that after the return Boxer is much sadder, no longer wants to bathe, although he didn't go out of the water before, plays less (he likes to play with a ball and other toys). Boxer is about 3 years old. We are looking for a person for Boxer who is not afraid of his past and will help him create a beautiful future. Volunteers will help him get acquainted.

About Boksas

What life with Boksas looks like

Boksas is a medium-sized young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Būk mano draugas in Lithuania.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇱🇹Adopting from Lithuania

The shelter typically completes the animal's vaccinations, microchipping, and pet passport before adoption. Specific fees and process details vary by shelter and country — confirm directly via the contact details in the sidebar.

Frequently asked

Adopting Boksas, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Boksas?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Būk mano draugas handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Boksas on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Boksas if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Būk mano draugas will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Boksas already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Boksas isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Būk mano draugas early rather than rehoming privately; they know Boksas and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (LT). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
