Adopt Bones

Mixed Breed · Female · Adult · 5 years

adoption requirements adoption process Now adopt this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Bones has found a home! Her story: Fantanele, Romania. Bones got her name due to her funny fur pattern on her head. She is a true one-of-a-kind. She waits together with her puppy Fenja in a private animal shelter in Fantanele. She lives in an outdoor pen and hopes very much to get her ticket to happiness soon. Not only Bones's appearance is unique – her personality is simply charming. Bones is estimated to be around 1.5 years old and has a small size with a height of about 36 cm and a weight of 11 kg. She is a shy girl, but she enjoys being stroked. However, it is noticeable that she is not used to human contact. Bones is absolutely sweet, but still reserved. She had a tough life so far and needs time to understand that she is now in safety. We wish Bones a quiet home in the countryside with people who can take the time to get to know her. A confident only dog in the family would be great, as she gets along well with other animals and might also be able to bond with them. She still needs to learn the rules of the Dog ABCs. Walking on a leash, house training…all these things are still unfamiliar to Bones. It is certainly an advantage if you have experience with shy dogs. An absolute condition is a positive training style – Bones has truly suffered enough in her life. Also, when choosing dog training classes, this should be kept in mind. Our this breed is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and treated for fleas. She brings her EU pet passport and can go to a new home after a positive assessment. A foster home could also be a springboard into a new life for Bones. Are you smitten with this lovely lady and ready to pave the way to a worry-free life for her? Many thanks, Silvie S.! Your sponsorship name fits perfectly again!

Vielen Dank Silvie S.! Deine Namenspatenschaft passt mal wieder ausgezeichnet!

About Bones

What life with Bones looks like

Bones is a medium-sized adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Bones, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Bones?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Bones on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Bones if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Bones already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Bones isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Bones and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
