Bonito

Scottish Fold · Male · Young · 2 years

Hello, I am Bonito! I have been at the animal shelter since: 22.04.2025, Privatabgabe Unterbringung: Wohnung - gemeinsam mit MURLINA (25169) Gesellschaft: I will only move into a new home together with MURLINA (25169). Although we do not cuddle and play permanently, we need each other's presence! :)) So, I am: At first rather quiet and reserved, but once I warm up, I am very friendly and curious. I like to observe everything from a distance first. You will need to invest a bit of time and patience in me - then I am a little mischievous and enjoy being stroked and scratched :) Important: Ruhiger Haushalt, keine Kleinkinder Wichtig: Qualzucht-Mix. Ggbfs. OCD (Osteochondrodysplasie) - genetic disease that causes changes in cartilage and bones. Symptoms include lameness, stiffness, and behavioral changes. Pain medication is required.

Ggbfs. OCD (Osteochondrodysplasie) - genetische Krankheit, die Knorpel- und Skelettveränderungen auslöst. Symptome sind z.B. Lahmheit, Steifheit und Wesensveränderungen. Bekommt Schmerzmittel.

About Bonito

What life with Bonito looks like

Bonito is a small young adult scottish fold cat waiting at Tierheim Wels in Wels.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

Note from the shelter: OCD (Osteochondrodysplasia) - genetic disease causing cartilage and skeletal changes. Symptoms include lameness, stiffness and behavioral changes. Receives pain medication. Must be adopted with companion cat MURLINA (25169).

🇦🇹Adopting from Austria

Austrian shelters follow the federal Tierschutzgesetz framework: adopters sign a Schutzvertrag (protection contract) committing to the animal's welfare. Spay/neuter, microchip, and vaccinations are included; fees typically range €150–€350.

Frequently asked

Adopting Bonito, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Bonito?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Wels handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Bonito on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Bonito if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Wels will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Bonito already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Bonito isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Wels early rather than rehoming privately; they know Bonito and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
