Nino

Scottish Fold · Male

Start / Animals / Cats / Tomcats / Nino Nino 25.07.2026. Breed: Scottish Fold. Sex: male, neutered. Color: black-tan. b: 2022 Categories: Animals, Cats, Tomcats Description The raven-black Nino with the folded ears is such a shy little guy! You have to seek him out! He sits in his little house and hopes that no one will discover him there. But if you are persistent and make an effort with him, he lets himself be petted, and he apparently doesn't find that so bad at all. Whether he is afraid of the two-legged ones or of the other cats cannot be said, but now and then another shy buddy or a female friend likes to sit with him in his little house. Once he has arrived in a new home and is given the time to settle in and get to know his people, the shy Nino will become a lovable housemate. Whether he has, or will develop, breed-related health problems cannot be assessed at this time. Breeders of this breed accept, for the sake of the cute folded ears, that in breeding not only the cartilage of the ear is weakly formed so the ears fold, but the cartilage throughout the body is very weakly developed, and this can lead to joint and bone problems, even to lifelong pain. We can only keep our fingers and paws crossed that everything is alright with Nino, but cats are champions at hiding pain and health problems. Info: The animal descriptions are based on observations at the shelter or on information from third parties and do not constitute guaranteed characteristics! Nino 25.07.2026. Breed: Scottish Fold. About Nino

What life with Nino looks like

Nino is an adult scottish fold cat waiting at Tierheim Fulda in Fulda.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Dogs and cats typically leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with an EU pet passport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Nino, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Nino?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Fulda handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Nino on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Nino if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Fulda will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Nino already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Nino isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Fulda early rather than rehoming privately; they know Nino and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
