Bonnie

European Shorthair · Unknown · Adult · 6 years

Gender: Female, neutered Since in our shelter: 11.7.2025 Features: Suitable for apartment living, possible in a quiet home without small children, requires heart medication Temperament: Quiet, relaxed, clingy, cuddly Soft velvet paws, definitely apply to our 6-year-old Bonnie. The pretty tiger cat with the spots is quiet, calm within herself, a bit cautious, and incredibly soft and good-natured. Bonnie is simply perfect as a companion in the house. She not only looks beautiful but also shines through her kindness, her friendly nature, and her relaxed purring. Bonnie can easily live as a pure apartment cat, alone or with a second quiet and relaxed cat. She never stands out as being unpleasant. However, the pretty mouse, likely born with heart disease and requiring heart medication, wishes for a quiet home without stress, chaos, or small children or other animals. If you can imagine adopting the pretty kitten, you can contact the Eutiner animal shelter.

About Bonnie

What life with Bonnie looks like

Bonnie is a small adult european shorthair cat waiting at Tierschutz Eutin und Umgebung e.V. in Eutin.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Bonnie, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Bonnie?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutz Eutin und Umgebung e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Bonnie on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Bonnie if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutz Eutin und Umgebung e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Bonnie already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Bonnie isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutz Eutin und Umgebung e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Bonnie and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
