Bonnie

Female · Young · 3 years

Our partner Ester is very active, among other things, supporting us in our prevention work. Through her efforts, cats in many of the numerous colonies in Sassari have been neutered, thereby alleviating the cat suffering to some extent. Cats that require more than the normal monitoring and recovery time after surgical procedures often go home with her to be cared for. And when one of these cats turns out to be particularly clingy and friendly, she tries to find good homes for them. If that doesn't succeed in her area, we are asked for help. But not only does Ester tirelessly work for “her” colony cats: When other people ask her for help, she usually doesn’t say no. This was also the case with the lovely little Bonnie. The beautiful tortoiseshell cat had found its way to a young woman who initially took her in and cared for her, but couldn’t keep the kitten long-term. She definitely did not want to put the little one back on the street or rehome her locally, so she reached out to Ester. Now we are also looking for a lovely home with caring people in Germany for the cuddly Bonnie. Bonnie has arrived at her foster home in Germany. Here, she is waiting for nice people who would like to adopt her. Bonnie feels very comfortable in her foster home because she has befriended the other two cats. She enjoys playing with the younger one, sometimes turning the entire apartment into a racetrack. Bonnie can’t get enough of cuddling with her foster mom. Overall, she is an absolutely friendly, easygoing cat, and you can even have conversations with her because the little one is quite talkative. If you would like to take Bonnie into your family, we look forward to your inquiry. She will not be placed in single-cat households. Generally, we prefer homes suitable for apartment living with a secure balcony or secured terrace for our cats.

About Bonnie

What life with Bonnie looks like

Bonnie is a young adult cat waiting at ProTier e.V. in Germany.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Bonnie, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Bonnie?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. ProTier e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Bonnie on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Bonnie if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — ProTier e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Bonnie already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Bonnie isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with ProTier e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Bonnie and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
