Adopt Bonnie

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 3 years

Meet Bonnie ❤️ little Bonnie’s life has already changed so much. This 3-year-old Westie arrived with us in quite poor condition, but with some care, patience, and love, she is now looking absolutely fantastic. Bonnie is now ready to find her forever home, but she does have some specific requirements that are essential for her happiness and wellbeing. 🏡 Bonnie must live with another friendly, confident dog. Having a canine companion is vital for her, helping her feel secure and continue to grow in confidence. 🏡 She needs a home where someone is around most of the time and where there is a fully secure outdoor space for her to enjoy safely. 🏡 Any children in the home should be 12 years or older and able to understand and respect that Bonnie will need her own space at times. 🏡 Bonnie is looking for a patient and understanding family who will continue to help her build confidence at her own pace and celebrate all the little victories along the way. 🏡 Westie experience would be preferred, although the right home with a good understanding of her needs will be considered. Bonnie is a lovely little girl who has come such a long way already. Now she just needs that special family willing to give her the time, reassurance, and love she deserves. Could you be the one to give Bonnie her happy ever after? 🐾❤️

About Bonnie

What life with Bonnie looks like

Bonnie is a young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Almost Home Animal Rescue NI in Belfast.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇮🇪Adopting from Ireland

Irish shelters require a home check (often phone or video) and an adoption contract. Animals are vaccinated, chipped, and registered. Cross-border placements to mainland Europe require the rabies titer test (TRACES system).

Frequently asked

Adopting Bonnie, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Bonnie?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Almost Home Animal Rescue NI handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Bonnie on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Bonnie if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Almost Home Animal Rescue NI will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Bonnie already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Bonnie isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Almost Home Animal Rescue NI early rather than rehoming privately; they know Bonnie and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
