Bonnie

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 3 years

I had a family, but I got scared and ran away because of some noises. My owner is found, but since my vaccination has expired, he can't take me home yet. Also, he needs to build a fence because me and my friends tore it down. I am friendly and open. I love people. More information about me will follow later. Partner of Bonnie-Clyde. He also fled from the fireworks on New Year's Eve, and he came to us at the beginning of January. Fortunately, the microchip scanner detected him, so we could identify him. Unfortunately, his vaccinations have expired, so he is in quarantine and under observation. We have contacted his owner, but he withdrew. So Bonnie is also looking for a new, responsible, permanent family. Unlike Clyde, Bonnie is friendly and open-minded. She approaches people with interest and is happy to receive contact. Nevertheless, we recommend several visits before adoption to develop a real bond. -: Dominant female dog, but compatible with other dogs of the same breed. She knows what she wants and shows it to other dogs. She needs a confident, self-assured owner who provides structure. She can be integrated with well-socialized, balanced dogs. – Energetic, quick-witted, and decisive. Despite her past, she hasn't been broken, and she has kept her cheerful attitude. She needs tasks and consistent guidance. We do not recommend Bonnie for first-time dog owners. We are looking for an experienced owner who understands the psyche of dominant female dog and can guide them with consistent training and firmness. She is an ideal companion for an active lifestyle, as she needs movement and mental exhaustion. If you are decisive, experienced, and looking for a truly brave and loyal companion, Bonnie will appreciate your care. **Note**: Clyde arrived together with her, but they can also be adopted separately. If they go together, it's an additional advantage, because they know each other and support each other. This animal is microchipped.

About Bonnie

What life with Bonnie looks like

Bonnie is a young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Mogyoró Menedék Szentes in Hungary.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇭🇺Adopting from Hungary

Hungarian shelters operate at high capacity given the country's stray population. Animals leave sterilized, chipped, and with a passport. Many shelters coordinate transport to Germany, Austria, and the Nordics.

Frequently asked

Adopting Bonnie, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Bonnie?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Mogyoró Menedék Szentes handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Bonnie on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Bonnie if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Mogyoró Menedék Szentes will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Bonnie already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Bonnie isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Mogyoró Menedék Szentes early rather than rehoming privately; they know Bonnie and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (HU). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
