Adopt Bonny

Female · Senior · 17 years

Bonny is very cuddly, actively seeks the company of humans, and loves long cuddle sessions. Previously, she was an outdoor cat, often out for many hours at a time. In the last 1-2 years, however, she has become very home-loving. She usually only goes outside for a few minutes at a time and wants to come back inside right away. Bonny is in good health for her age. She eats well, is mobile, and shows no acute problems. She is neutered, microchipped, and has regularly received worm and flea treatments throughout her life. Other cats mostly ignore her as long as they keep their distance and don't get too close, but she will hiss if they come too near. When it comes to dogs, she is initially cautious but warms up when she gets to know them. For Bonny, a quiet home is sought, ideally with a single person or a quiet couple with plenty of time and understanding for a senior cat. Unfortunately, she does not get along well with children due to her grumpy behavior causing her too much stress.

About Bonny

What life with Bonny looks like

Bonny is a senior cat waiting at Tierschutzverein Heilbronn in Heilbronn.

Senior cats are the gentlest house guests: predictable, mostly silent, and grateful for a sunny windowsill. Older cats often have minor dental or kidney issues — keep an eye on water intake and weight. Many sleep eighteen hours a day and want no part of any drama.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Bonny, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Bonny?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein Heilbronn handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Bonny on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Bonny if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein Heilbronn will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Bonny already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Bonny isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein Heilbronn early rather than rehoming privately; they know Bonny and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
