Adopt Vielzitzenmäuse

Male · Young · 1 year

Breed: Multimouse Gender: male + female Birthdates: varied On July 4, 2025, over 100 mice came to us following a sudden death—among them adults, juveniles, and babies of both genders. We were able to determine at least 8–9 teats on the females, so we assume they are Vielzitzenmäuse. Due to the large number of animals, our capacities are significantly exceeded, so we urgently seek people who can provide an appropriate home for the mice. Vielzitzenmäuse are twilight-to-night active, very social, and lively animals. They are curious, love climbing, and require many hiding places, enrichment opportunities, and a sufficiently large running wheel. The recommended enclosure size for 5–6 mice is at least: – 100 × 50 × 100 cm or – 120 × 50 × 80 cm The larger, the better! Vielzitzenmäuse are active animals that require a lot of space and structure. Suitable for husbandry are especially self- or modified cabinets and closed shelving systems with multiple levels that provide ample movement space. To prevent further offspring, we only match same-sex groups. It is advised against housing them with fancy mice! Interested parties can contact us via email with photos and the dimensions of the planned enclosure. Update February 6, 2026: 13 mice are still searching for a home. Further information and numerous husbandry tips for the African Multimouse can be found at: Mäuseasyl e.V.

About Vielzitzenmäuse

What life with Vielzitzenmäuse looks like

Vielzitzenmäuse is a large young adult animal waiting at Tierschutzverein Heilbronn in Heilbronn.

Every animal has their own temperament and history. The shelter knows Vielzitzenmäuse far better than any listing can convey — ask about daily routine, ideal household, and what kind of adopter they're hoping for.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Vielzitzenmäuse, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Vielzitzenmäuse?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein Heilbronn handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Vielzitzenmäuse on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Vielzitzenmäuse if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein Heilbronn will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Vielzitzenmäuse already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most animals on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Vielzitzenmäuse isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein Heilbronn early rather than rehoming privately; they know Vielzitzenmäuse and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
