Bono

Mixed Breed · Male · Puppy

Mixed-breed Bono—a young male dog searching for his happy ending. Together with his four siblings, Bono is one of many puppies currently living at our partner animal shelter in Bulgaria. Yet this handsome male dog shouldn't spend his life behind shelter walls. He longs for a loving home or a foster placement where he can finally feel truly at home. Bono displays age-appropriate playfulness, curiosity, and a touch of shyness. He’s friendly toward people, gets along well with other dogs, and thoroughly enjoys attention. Of course, Bono still has much to learn about what it takes to live harmoniously alongside others. House training, car rides, and learning to be left alone are just a few items on his list. With patience, loving consistency, and a positive approach, he’ll surely master these challenges step by step. His future humans should be aware that a puppy needs time, understanding, and patience. Anyone willing to accompany him on his journey will find in Bono a loyal and affectionate companion for life. A home in a rural setting with a securely fenced garden would be especially ideal for him. Bono longs to finally arrive, belong, and be loved. Who will give this handsome young male dog the chance for a happy dog life? Adopting an animal from an animal shelter always means taking on a special responsibility and can also be quite challenging. These dogs bring with them a backpack of past experiences or unlearned situations and need time to adjust to their new lives. If you’re seriously interested in adopting Bono, please get in touch with the responsible adoption coordinator at SALVA Hundehilfe. We’d also be delighted to receive offers of foster care placements.

About Bono

What life with Bono looks like

Bono is a puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. in Germany.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Bono, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Bono?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Bono on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Bono if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Bono already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Bono isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Bono and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
