Boss

Male · Young · 2 years

Boss is a handsome, young dog of the German Shepherd type. Behind the bars of his shelter kennel sits a dog who should be running around the world right now—instead of peering out at it from behind bars. Boss is pure energy and joy of life. He’s young, incredibly energetic, curious about the world, and always ready to take action. If there’s water nearby, that’s absolutely his element. He loves people with all his heart. Just one brief moment of contact is enough to make you... fall completely for him. Look into his eyes, and your heart instantly melts. He’s the kind of dog who stays in your memory long after he’s gone. He ended up at the shelter together with his brother Hugo. Two young dogs who, instead of a home, got nothing but bars and endless waiting for their chance. Boss is friendly toward other dogs, and despite everything he’s been through, he still trusts humans and believes that somewhere out there, his own family is waiting for him. He’s a dog who doesn’t just become attached—he falls head over heels in love with a person—and he does it very quickly. He doesn’t need much: plenty of exercise, regular walks, a warm place to rest, and a heart that’ll reciprocate his affection. Maybe it’s you who can give him a chance at a new life. Let’s not allow his youth to slip away behind bars. Let’s give him a home where he can finally just be truly happy.

PL·Show original

Boss to piękny, młody psiak w typie owczarka niemieckiego. Za kratami schroniskowego boksu siedzi pies, który powinien właśnie biegać po świecie, a nie wypatrywać go zza krat. Boss to czysta energia i radość życia.

About Boss

What life with Boss looks like

Boss is a large young adult dog waiting at Schronisko Na Paluchu in Warsaw.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Boss, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Boss?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko Na Paluchu handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Boss on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Boss if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko Na Paluchu will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Boss already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Boss isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko Na Paluchu early rather than rehoming privately; they know Boss and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
