Adopt Bountalas

Mixed Breed · Male · Senior · 16 years

Friendly and cheerful character, compatible, comfortable, does not like to be touched. VIDEO Bountalas was fed and taken care of by a Greek association on the street. One day his eye was injured and hung out of the eye socket like a large, inflamed nut, he must have had terrible pain. Unfortunately, the eye could not be saved and had to be removed, and Bountalas should not have to go back onto the street at his age. Life on the street is hard, winter nights are cold, and food is often insufficient. We were asked to take him in. Bountalas is a very kind guy who can become quite silly. However, he is still very cautious towards people and does not like to be touched or put on a leash. We wish to find a home for him. With a fixed place in the house and in the heart, because he certainly has many years ahead of him. Especially old dogs love affection, Bountalas will still have to learn to enjoy it. All are vaccinated, microchipped, and have an EU passport. They are checked for Mediterranean diseases according to their age. See information on our website. Every dog placed makes room for one of those dogs that live hungry and emaciated.

AUFENTHALTSORT

About Bountalas

What life with Bountalas looks like

Bountalas is a senior mixed breed dog waiting at A.C.E. Animal Compassion Europe - Tiere in Not e.V. in Greece.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇬🇷Adopting from Greece

Frequently asked

Adopting Bountalas, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Bountalas?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. A.C.E. Animal Compassion Europe - Tiere in Not e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Bountalas on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Bountalas if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — A.C.E. Animal Compassion Europe - Tiere in Not e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Bountalas already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Bountalas isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with A.C.E. Animal Compassion Europe - Tiere in Not e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Bountalas and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
