Bourgeon

Mixed Breed · Male · Puppy · 10 months

Bourgeon is an adorable little rascal whose entire education is still to be done, with love, patience, and gentleness. On 08/09/2026: Description from his foster family: Great behavior with my own dogs, no problems of morphotype like Hirondelle. Bourgeon growls if Marley passes too close to his bed, but it's fine. In the garden outdoors, he's great, he plays, he's relaxed. Very close to me and clean. Going out on the street isn't for right away. He watches me leave with my dogs and goes back to lie down. He sleeps an enormous amount. I'm imagining too much information. We'll work on desensitization to noises to build his confidence before trying an outing.

About Bourgeon

What life with Bourgeon looks like

Bourgeon is a puppy mixed breed dog waiting at Association Happy Together in France.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇫🇷Adopting from France

French refuges follow the SPA framework: adopters sign a cession contract that includes sterilization, vaccinations, microchip identification, and rabies passport. Many refuges work with rescue transport partners for cross-border placements.

Frequently asked

Adopting Bourgeon, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Bourgeon?: Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Association Happy Together handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Bourgeon on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Bourgeon if I live in another country?: Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Association Happy Together will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Bourgeon already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?: Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Bourgeon isn't the right fit?: Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Association Happy Together early rather than rehoming privately; they know Bourgeon and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?: TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
