BRANSTON

Greyhound Β· Unknown Β· Puppy

Four year old BRANSTON arrived with us on the 28th July 2026. This lovely lad is settling in well and certainly hasn't got himself into a 'pickle' πŸ˜‚ BRANSTON spent some time in a home prior to arriving with us and he coped well with the initial transition from kennels. He is a handsome and friendly boy who loves his walks. He walks well on the lead and is fine with larger breeds of dog - but just needs a bit more practice meeting smaller breeds. For BRANSTON we are looking for adopters who have experience of caring for larger breeds of dog. We would also prefer children in the household to be 10 years plus (purely because he is a bigger dog and could knock small children over). We feel BRANSTON would make a lovely family dog and would enjoy all the activities an active family could offer him. Is BRANSTON the hound you are looking for to join your family? πŸ”ΈNo cats πŸ”ΈChildren over 10 years πŸ”ΈExperience of larger dogs

About BRANSTON

What life with BRANSTON looks like

BRANSTON is a small puppy greyhound dog waiting at Makants Greyhound Rescue NW in United Kingdom.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window β€” house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting BRANSTON, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about BRANSTON?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Makants Greyhound Rescue NW handles screening and the adoption contract directly β€” TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw BRANSTON on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt BRANSTON if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad β€” Makants Greyhound Rescue NW will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is BRANSTON already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported β€” ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if BRANSTON isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work β€” that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Makants Greyhound Rescue NW early rather than rehoming privately; they know BRANSTON and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect β€” names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
