Braun-Weiße Nala

Male · Senior · 10 years

This is white Nala with brown patches on her fur and a sweet spot on her head. The American Staffhound female dog, born around 2016, has already seen a lot in her life and came to us through a seizure with her 9 puppies. All the little ones were successfully rehomed, but unfortunately, no one has shown interest in their caring mother Nala. By now, she has of course been neutered. She is looking for a loving home with an individual or a couple without children who already have experience with American Staffhounds or similar breeds. The owners would need to bring time and patience, and be ready to train a lot with the female dog. Other animals should not live in the household. Due to her advancing age, she unfortunately already has the occasional ache, for example arthritis in some joints. Getting to know her requires a lot of empathy and patience, as she can be very insecure towards strangers and reacts with suspicion. But once she has placed her trust in a person, she is an alert, intelligent, and also cuddly female dog. For more information, check our Cookies Policy. About Braun-Weiße Nala

What life with Braun-Weiße Nala looks like

Braun-Weiße Nala is a medium-sized senior dog waiting at Tierheim Salzburg in Salzburg.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

Note from the shelter: Arthritis in several joints

🇦🇹Adopting from Austria

Austrian shelters follow the federal Tierschutzgesetz framework: adopters sign a Schutzvertrag (protection contract) committing to the animal's welfare. Spay/neuter, microchip, and vaccinations are included; fees typically range €150–€350.

Frequently asked

Adopting Braun-Weiße Nala, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Braun-Weiße Nala?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Salzburg handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Braun-Weiße Nala on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Braun-Weiße Nala if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Salzburg will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Braun-Weiße Nala already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Braun-Weiße Nala isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Salzburg early rather than rehoming privately; they know Braun-Weiße Nala and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
