Briar and Charcoal

Mixed Breed Cat Β· Male Β· Kitten Β· 4 months

This handsome pair of brothers have not had the best start in life, after being found abandoned by a member of public. Thankfully one of our wonderful fosterers stepped up and took them on straight away. Briar and Charcoal are now living their best life with their fosterer, enjoying fuss and interaction whenever they like. You’ll know when they want attention as they’ll rub up against you and lick your fingers. They are extremely sweet little boys. They are both very playful, they enjoy playing with each other and various toys. Briar will follow his big brother Charcoal around almost everywhere so we will be rehoming them together. The kittens have a clean bill of health and can be fully insured after rehoming. The boys would be fine to live with another cat, there would just need to be enough space and resources for all. A cat-friendly dog would not be a problem either.

About Briar and Charcoal

What life with Briar and Charcoal looks like

Briar and Charcoal is a large kitten mixed breed cat cat waiting at Wood Green in London.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months β€” most shelters arrange this before adoption.

πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Briar and Charcoal, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Briar and Charcoal?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Wood Green handles screening and the adoption contract directly β€” TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Briar and Charcoal on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Briar and Charcoal if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad β€” Wood Green will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Briar and Charcoal already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported β€” ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Briar and Charcoal isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work β€” that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Wood Green early rather than rehoming privately; they know Briar and Charcoal and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect β€” names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
